My summers off are reading new books, YA literature, children's literature, books to help me become a better teacher. Or taking a class - this summer is "Diversity in the Classroom." I have also been going through new curriculum, coming up with ways to differentiate, making sure I hit those power standards this year. While doing all of this, I buy and create things for my classroom with my money.
Somehow I manage to run kids to sports, get two ready for college, meet and get ready for a new exchange student and try to smash in as much family time as I can. Would I change it? No!!!
I love what I do, just remember every time you think a teacher has a summer off remember they are getting ready for their next group of kids! ☺️
